Peaches Gallery Spotlight: New York City - Nov. 14, 2009

The line "Do I dare to eat a peach?" by poet T.S. Eliot is the first thing you see when you visit the bio page of the Peaches website. It's the first hint that--although she is known for being outrageous and confrontational--underneath it all Peaches is the thinking man's diva.

Peaches' fans have come to expect her flamboyant, gender-bending costumes and aggressive stage antics. Performance art aside, the substance of her music is no less unfettered, best described as 21st century electronics combined with lyrics at times so explicit they could make a stripper blush. This spring, she released her fifth studio album "I Feel Cream," which includes contributions from likes of Simian Mobile Disco , Soulwax and Digitalism .

Peaches' current tour is now in the home stretch. She will be in Montreal tonight (11/17) and heads to Toronto tomorrow (11/18). The final show is scheduled for Nov. 28 in Los Angeles. LiveDaily photographer Chris Owyoung attended Peaches' show at Terminal 5 in New York City on Saturday (11/14), and here are some of his best shots.
