Devo Gallery Spotlight: Seattle, WA - Nov. 8, 2009

With a tongue-in-cheek nod to the regression of mankind, Devo was named for the concept of de-evolution. Today, they're living proof that going back to one's starting point can also be a good thing.

After the band recently signed a new record deal with its original label, Warner Bros., Gerald Casale told press, "We are excited to embark on Devo's latest sonic subversion with the label that first unleashed us on the unsuspecting public.... De-evolution is real!"

Mark Mothersbaugh, Gerald Casale, Bob Casale, Bob Mothersbaugh and Josh Freese now have their ninth studio album in the works, which is scheduled to drop early next year. In the meantime, fans can catch Devo as they finish up a brief tour performing some of their early albums in their entirety. Tomorrow and Friday (11/12-13) they will be at the Vic Theatre in Chicago; Sunday and Monday (11/15-16) the tour hits the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC.

LiveDaily photographer Elisa Sherman caught up with the New Wave icons at the Moore Theatre in Seattle last weekend (11/8), and here are some of her best shots.
