Aside from the stellar lineup of bands at this year’s All Points West music festival, the buzz from the event seems centered around two main themes: Beastie Boys tributes and the weather.

Hip-hop superstar Jay-Z , who stepped up to fill in for the Beastie Boys in the headlining spot on day one (7/31) made ticket-holders glad they braved the rain when he kicked off his set with "No Sleep ‘till Broklyn." On day two, (8/1) fans enjoyed clear skies and the music of Tool , The Cool Kids , Kool Keith and Ice-T , My Bloody Valentine , Gogol Bordello , Arctic Monkeys, Neko Case and The Ting Tings , among others.

On day three, (8/2) Coldplay offered up their own tribute to Beastie Boy Adam "MCA" Yauch (who recently announced he was battling cancer) and company with a pop ballad version of “(You Gotta) Fight For Your Right (To Party)” and, just like day one, rewarded the crowd for hanging tough through the rain. Livedaily photographer Christopher Owyoung attended the festival and here are some of his best shots.
