New Spoon album due in early 2010

Spoon 's new album, "Transference," will be released in the US on Jan. 26, according to a press release. The album is the band's first full length release since 2007's "Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga."

In related news, the band's first four albums--"Telephono," "A Series Of Sneaks," "Girls Can Tell" and "Kill The Moonlight"--made their digital debut Sept. 29. The albums can be purchased and downloaded via the band's website.

On the live front, Spoon will play a one-off New Year's Eve gig at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee. The band also is expected to tour in support of "Transference."
