The Beatles catalog available on Apple USB drive

The Beatles ' 14 re-mastered stereo albums are being released on a limited-edition, apple-shaped USB drive that also contains all of the recently released CD's visual elements, including 13 mini-documentary films about the albums, according to the band's official website. The USB drive, which will be available Dec. 8, also contains replicated original UK album art, rare photos and expanded liner notes.

The 16GB drive will come with a specially designed Flash interface installed and its audio contents will be provided in FLAC and MP3 formats, fully compatible with PCs and Macs.

The Beatles' USB catalog can be pre-ordered for $279.99 via the band's website. However, with only 30,000 "Apples" scheduled to be produced, the site cannot guarantee orders, which may be limited depending on vendor allotment.

The USB version of The Beatles' re-mastered catalog--which was released on CD in September--contains the following albums: "Please Please Me," "With The Beatles," "A Hard Day's Night," "Beatles For Sale," "Help!," "Rubber Soul," "Revolver," "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," "Magical Mystery Tour," "Yellow Submarine," "The Beatles (aka The White Album)," "Abbey Road," "Let It Be" and "Past Masters."
